MCE has the honour to be amongst the oldest military institutions of Pakistan Army. The primary aim of this institution was to train combat engineers for Pakistan Army; however, since Corps of Engineers was also entrusted with nation building tasks, therefore, in 1951, the College commenced civil engineering degree in collaboration with UET Lahore. Since then the development of the college has advanced and we now have the honour of having produced over 4350 BE and over 300 MS graduates to date, including 61 graduates of friendly countries. Out of these graduates of MCE, over 1000 have completed their Masters and over 100 doctoral degrees from renowned Universities of the country and around the world.

Our BE program has been consistently accredited by Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) on Outcome-based Education system under Washington Accord. Quality is the hallmark of our institution and it has highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty to educate our students. Presently we have 22 x PhD faculty members qualified from renowned Universities of the World. Our faculty members have contributed over 700 research publications in journals of international repute. Our Faculty members are recipients of numerous national and international awards including National Award of Best University Teacher by Higher Education Commission, Awards for Best Dissertation, Best Project and Outstanding Research in Civil Engineering from USA. Our Faculty members are also on the panel of National Expert Group for CPEC constituted by Ministry of Communication, GoP.

MCE has been actively involved in Research & Development in collaboration with industry. Major contributions include: Development of Building Code of Pakistan with Fire Safety Provisions in collaboration with PEC and NDMA, National Projects on Improvement of Asphalt Mix Design Technology, Real-Time monitoring of Shisper Glacier at Hunza, Establishment of Mining Cadastre System for KPK, Mineral resource estimation and mine design for Boya Degan Copper Mine for FWO in North Waziristan Agency. College has an excellent and disciplined environment for academic and personality grooming of the students. With the blessing of Almighty Allah, and assistance from Army and NUST, quality of education has significantly improved over the years.
