A new state of the art BIM Lab is being established at MCE. In BIM LAB 100 thin clients are connected with Hi Tech Servers. Virtual Servers have been configured on physical servers to install multiple high end Civil Engineering softwares for optimized utilization of hardware.
- BIM Lab will be utilized for hands-on training of following BIM environment related modules:
- Basic computer aided drawing using Autodesk Revit – Arch
- Interference checking in drawing / design (using Autodesk Revit suite)
- Hands on training and overview of the Quantity Takeoff, Autodesk Revit and Sage Estimating 5D BIM
- Impart enhance problem solving skills and the ability to effectively integrate modern tools/ software like Primavera / Autodesk Navisworks
- BIM lab is also utilised to impart following BIM literacy to different stakeholders:
- BIM education and hands-on training is provided to undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and MES students
- BIM specific research and development (R&D) work is carried out for UG – final year projects and master level research for dissertation
- BIM related training will be offered to industry professionals
- BIM lab will also be used to provide consultancy services to the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry.
