Selection Procedure

Following steps are involved in finalizing the merit list:
* The applications submitted will be scrutinized for the correctness of information and conformity with the requirements given in the advertisement.

* Incomplete applications in any respect will summarily be rejected.

* Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria will be required to appear in NUST Entrance Test/SAT Reasoning Test /SAT Subject Test (internationally recognized). NUST entrance test will be held at different centers in the major cities of Pakistan depending upon the strength of the applicants. SAT Reasoning Test /SAT Subject Test is a computer based test which is under ets.org. Details can be sought on the website www.collegeboard.org

* Exact time and centres for NUST entrance test will be notified through press/letters.

* Final merit list, for engineering, medical and information technology programs, will be prepared by assigning weightages as follows:-
*NUST Entrance Test/SAT Reasoning
                  Test /SAT Subject Test                      75%
          
                * FSc/A level                                 15%
           
                                          OR
           
                * FSc Part-I                                  15%
          
                * Matric/O Level                              10%
* Final merit list for BBA will be prepared by assigning 5% weightage to Matric, 10% weightage to FA/FSc/A level or FA/FSc 1st year marks (for fresh candidates), 70% weightage to NUST entrance test/SAT Reasoning Test and 15% weightage to interview, subject to the candidates scoring at least 60% marks (excluding NCC marks) in their final intermediate and matric or equivalent examinations.

* Final merit list for Engineering, Medical and Information Technology programs of O/A level candidates will be prepared by assigning 25% weightage to O level and 75% weightage to NUST entrance test/SAT Subject Test, subject to the candidate scoring at least 60% marks in their final A level exam as per equivalence certificate issued by IBCC Islamabad.         

* Final merit list for BBA program of O/A level candidates will be prepared by assigning 15% weightage to O level, 70% weight age to NUST Entrance Test and 15% weightage to interview, subject to the candidates scoring at least 60% marks in their final A level exam as per equivalence certificate issued by IBCC Islamabad. * The above policy may be reviewed and changed by the university whenever deemed necessary.

* NUST will not be responsible if result of FSc/ equivalent exams is not declared before the start of a particular program No one will be admitted to the program once it has started. It is the responsibility of the candidate to provide the academic record in time to the university as per the dead line already mentioned in the prospectus. For preparation of merit, late submission of record may result in assigning zero weightage to previous academic record.

* Final merit list for BBA will be prepared by assigning 5% weightage to Matric, 10% weightage to FA/FSc or FA/FSc 1st year marks (for fresh candidates), 70% weightage to NUST test and 15% weightage to interview, subject to the candidates scoring at least 60 % marks (excluding NCC marks) in their final intermediate and matric or equivalent examinations.         

* Final merit list for BBA program of O/A level candidates will be prepared by assigning 15% weightage to O level, 70% weightage to NUST Entrance Test and 15% weightage to interview, subject to the candidates scoring at least 60% marks in their final A level exam as per equivalence certificate issued by IBCC Islamabad.
